I was born in the UK and emigrated to mainland Australia in the early 1990’s. I now live on lunawanna-allonah | Bruny Island, Tasmania, working from my home studio.
My practice is concerned with our view of the natural environment; of relationships to landscape, place and interconnections with nature; of the effects that place can have on its inhabitants and conversely the impact that those occupants can have on their surroundings.
My work is all hand fabricated, I find it a powerful learning experience to make through observation - to find ways of morphing materials into new forms. Precious metals, natural and found materials are combined and transformed into sculptures and wearable tokens that carry an essence of connection, memory and belonging.
In recognition of the deep history and culture of this island, I acknowledge and pay my respects to the Traditional Custodians, Elders and Ancestral Spirits of the land upon which I live and work, and in particular the Nuenonne of lunawanna-alonnah.
